Description

Lender Processing Services, Inc. (NYSE:LPS), a leading provider of integrated technology and services to the mortgage industry is seeking an individual with experience in purchasing. Individual will work with corporate-wide purchasing and business partners to streamline and consolidate procurement of technology related components, fixed assets, corporate travel and general purchases.

This newly created position is responsible for a variety of tasks within the Purchasing Department to include but not limited to providing strategic and tactical direction for the procurement team. The Senior Purchasing Director will lead the Purchasing Department in the achievement of "Excellence" and implementation of best-practices. Specific focus will be given to developing a structured and value-added function while developing and ensuring that corporate policies and procedures are maintained.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control the company's purchasing costs
  • Direct and manage sourcing strategies from beginning to end
  • Monitor vendor and service provider performance to ensure quality of service
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management policies and procedures
  • Communicate procurement strategies to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Assist in the development of, provide oversight and support to the company's ERP system, specifically Oracle I-Procurement
  • Measure actual performance against goals and present results to executive management
  • Manage and supervise purchasing staff; supervise preparation and processing of requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
  • Coordinate purchasing activities: review purchase orders to ascertain accuracy and proper matching to invoices
  • Develop, establish, implement, and enforce supplier guidelines, obligations, and service level agreements to the organization
  • Interview, identify, and qualify potential new vendors or suppliers in order to secure more cost-effective sources of products and services
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions of sale, and warranties of goods and products with key suppliers and vendors
  • Reports on key metrics and monitors departmental internal controls

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management or equivalent degree
  • 8 years direct work experience in a purchasing or procurement capacity; 5 years in a supervisory capacity, including all aspects of strategy development and execution
  • Excellent contract management skills are essential
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services
  • Accurate budgeting and cost-management skills
  • General knowledge of accounting, finance, and logistics
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing regulations and laws
  • Strong familiarity and technical competence with purchase management software and/or automated procurement systems, preferably Oracle
  • Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies preferred
  • Excellent analytical abilities
