Position Description:

To lead cross-functional global commodity teams that will leverage purchasing power, improve processes and systems to reduce overall cost of acquisition of assigned commodity area.

To develop strategies for the assigned commodity area that allows the organization to focus on key supplier relationships.

To negotiate, establish, and measure global multi-million dollar contracts, and national or regional contracts as required.
Position Responsibilities
-
Develop global commodity teams and lead process to recommend strategies to globally manage all aspects of the assigned commodity area to achieve world-class performance levels.

Assume global leadership role in source selection, contract negotiations and administration of complex multi-million dollar contracts including internal spend analysis, preparation of bid packages, proposal analysis and evaluation, contract provision negotiation, supplier selection/recommendation, contract award and administration.

Support global customer base by communicating effectively across business unit procurement organizations, business unit functions, financial and legal groups to complete work assignments and to build partnerships in support of strategies for the assigned commodity area.

Obtain global market condition information related to assigned commodity and supplier base. Suggest and implement business strategies. Benchmark with other companies to determine best overall practices for assigned commodity area.

Communicate with all levels of management throughout the enterprise.

Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on "Best in Class" Sourcing processes.

Full working knowledge of eSourcing Tools including catalogs and eAuctions.
Basic Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIRED
-
Bachelors Degree (preferably in finance, business administration, operations, information technology, or a related field)
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

C.P.M. or CPSM Certification
-
Familiarity with e-commerce initiatives
-
Knowledge of enterprise solutions
-
Previous experience and/or expertise with IT Categories including with emphasis on Hardware & Telecom.

Experience with IT Software contracts a plus.
