Special Announcement about the
Caucus IT Procurement Summit
Over the past several months, we have heard from a number of members who are faced with significant reductions in their budgets for training and travel this year. In addition, staff cut-backs are resulting in increased workloads that will prevent some members from attending any off-site events.
Members always tell us that the networking opportunities afforded by the Caucus annual conference are a significant reason for attending. While we would like to assure people that the networking will be as plentiful as in years past, we are not in a position to do so. We cannot accurately forecast the attendance for a conference this year, and attendance is a critical factor in any conference experience.
As a result, we feel it is in the Association’s best interest to not schedule an annual conference this year. Our Caucus Executive Advisory Committee has already started preliminary plans for the 2010 Caucus IT Procurement Summit.
Just because we are not holding a conference this year doesn’t mean that we will not have training and networking opportunities. Among the events on the drawing board is a series of Caucus-produced on-line workshops covering a number of topics from previous conferences and on subjects relating to our current economic times. We are also developing an informal meeting framework to create more local networking opportunities. With these events and others, we hope to fill the void left by the cancellation of this year’s conference.
We appreciate your Caucus membership. Please contact us if you have any ideas about other ways we can improve our membership benefits.
Highlights of the IT Procurement Summit
Our 2008 Annual Conference was a complete success. Here’s some of what those who attended told us:
“Outstanding! Very insightful and extremely engaging!”
“There were so many outstanding topics it was difficult to choose.”
“Great networking opportunities and information sharing.”
“I will definitely be back!”
This annual conference provides procurement professionals with state-of-the-art information relating to all facets of the acquisition process. Networking opportunities abound, and many of the interactions initiated at the conference develop into long-term business relationships.
You’re sure to gain knowledge and new understanding about high tech procurement by attending the annual Caucus IT Procurement Summit.
